Faith Organizations

Hope Buffalo and the Role of faith organizations

Faith organizations play a unique role in our communities. They serve as the backbone for our most vulnerable and under-served populations. They provide spiritual support in life’s most challenging times.

With support from the faith community, HOPE Buffalo can address some of the issues that prevent teens from reaching their fullest potential (i.e., social injustice, inequity, health disparities). Our goal is that faith organizations be willing to tackle some of the toughest problems teens face, including teen pregnancy, head on. Many already do.

If you’re part of a faith organization, help us rebuild and strengthen our communities by creating safe havens and educational spaces for teens to learn, play and grow.

what can you do?

If you’re part of a faith organization, help us rebuild and strengthen our communities by creating safe havens and educational spaces for teens to learn, play and grow.

These tactics can help begin those conversations:

  • Take action to promote adolescent health
  • Foster positive environments that promote equity and opportunity for youth
  • Implement evidence based interventions through wellness committees and/or youth groups
  • Promote safe and supportive schools, which increase academic performance and graduation rates
  • Increase referrals and linkages to youth affirming healthcare providers
  • Increase opportunities for economic development and employment for teens
  • Provide a sense of purpose and hope for teens
